Just when we thought summer couldn’t get any better, here comes the 4th of July! A time to fly our flags high, celebrating our country and our independence. Backyards will be buzzing with family BBQs where no doubt you will spy picnic tables adorned in patriotic tablecloths just waiting for red, white, and blue-themed foods to be placed on top. Many will spend the day on Lake Thurmond. Swimming, boating, and rafting up with neighbors to enjoy the fun-filled weekend. Family and friends will gather, creating memories to last a lifetime. Our region offers an abundance of Fourth Of July fun spanning the course of two weekends. From backyard BBQs, boat parades, and local music to spectacular fireworks enjoyed from land or the water. We’ve highlighted a few below. 

 

*July 2nd Freedom Fireworks Extravaganza in Washington Ga.

*July 7th-9th Blues Cruise Festival Of Discovery

The Blues Cruise is the music component of the South Carolina Festival of Discovery. It celebrates the unique musical sound of the blues withnumerous musical artists performing at Uptown Greenwood restaurants and venues. *July 9th Plumb Branch Independence Day Boat Parade & Fireworks

Kicking off the day is the annual boat parade beginning at noon with awards presented at 2:30 p.m. BBQ, games, and live entertainment will be available at Plum Branch Yacht Club until the fireworks display (at 9 p.m. or dark).
