It’s been a short winter at Savannah Lakes Village with temperatures forecasted to reach the high 70s later this week. The redbuds, pear trees, and daffodils are blooming and the dogwoods aren’t far behind. It's a magical time of year for all residents, especially golfers!
Golf season is already well underway, with Master’s Week just around the corner (begins April 5th). Traditionally, Masters Week is a bustling time at Savannah Lakes Village. Friends and family visit from colder regions to Play the Lake, celebrate Easter, and attend the Masters at Augusta National (just 40 minutes from the village).
Savannah Lakes Village's two award-winning, championship golf courses, Monticello and Tara, both offer flexible tee times and six sets of tees that accommodate all levels of golfers. Carts are allowed within 30 yards of the center of the greens; therefore, golf continues to be accessible as we age. The courses are a member-owned amenity and membership is included with homeownership.
Both lakefront golf courses are considered to be among the most beautiful course in the Southeast. Monticello has hosted PGA tours for both men and women.
Savannah Lakes Village has a full-time golf pro on staff, so lessons are available year-round for both beginners and seasoned players. British PGA golf pro, Gareth Edwards, joined Savannah Lakes Village in 2015. Gareth is known for his great sense of humor, talent, expertise, and a knack for teaching. In spring and summer, Gareth offers clinics focused on specifics like putting, chipping, and bunkers. Once Gareth has helped students improve the basics (grip, set-up, and alignment), he hones in on each individual's technique during group and/ or one-on-one lessons.
It's the perfect time to plan a visit, meet your future golf teaching professional, and play the beautiful courses at Savannah Lakes Village!
